There are a plethora of subjects I could ramble on about, but I'll keep it relatively simple. What's bothering me lately, albeit not my most considerable issue with life as of late, is this seemingly prolonged, goddamn creative block I've been experiancing; it sucks! When ever I sit down and try to draw, nothing comes out, when ever I sit down with my guitar I just end up messing around and create little to nothing new. As much as I enjoy my two Ibanez guitars, they just don't have the life and personality that my beloved Schecter Hellraiser-Tempest had. It's almost like drawing on cheap Wal-Mart "sketch book" paper with a standard HB pencil made of compressed sawdust - compared to a decent 65lb+ real artists sketch book while using a nice pencil set made in Europe or the UK; you can yield the similar results, but all the feeling just isn't there.
Aside from that. I wish I could get one of my two bloody scanners working so I could update my profile, I may not have done any new art recently but, I do have some art from the last couple of years that I have never posted online before.
Other thoughts include: Where am I going to be in the next couple of months, Canada or back in the USA? There are a couple of albums I am in high anticipation for, some thing I've never really felt since I was a wee teenager! I am most looking forward to the LP debut by Skitliv (due out this month in Europe, by proxy the whole world), the new Dark Funeral album and I'm curious about the new Belphegor, although it's the least sought after of the three. At some point Carpathian Forest will release a new album, I know it's in the works but, no sort of release date has been set, little alone a track listing.
On one of the very few up notes, I've been procuring new music like crazy, there are just tonnes and tonnes of underground bands out there to discover and gather. When it comes to black metal Norway is still in the lead, next I'd say is a tie between France and Sweden, the UK is proving to have some real quality work come out of England, especially through the multi-instrumental capable musician Mick Kenney (Frost, Anaal Nathrakh, Fukpig, Mistress and others), and lastly I'm learning that some spanish [rooted] speaking nations are still going strong in the underground of extreme metal, there is some great stuff coming from Brasil and Spain, mostly thrash style metal.
Well, that was a lot more than I anticipated going on about but, it works.
